We loved staying at the hotel. Fabrisio runs an excellent staff and accommodations. There is always someone manning the desk day and night. They are attentive and aware of your stay there. The staff cleans the rooms at a high level of cleanliness. The personal that takes care of the daily breakfast does it with pride and care. Everything is set out in the morning to perfection. They offer a breakfast that includes scrambled eggs, bacon, Vienna sausages, croissants, cakes, cereal, mini muffins, fruit, toast, coffee, there is an espresso maker, water, milk, and other pastries. For a family of four with high school kids this is ideal. They offer laundry service, 4 waters daily. The room had a mini fridge as well as access to Netflix and other streaming apps. Air conditioning worked well. The location of the hotel is excellent as it sits on top of the Spanish steps. There are two restaurants adjacent to the hotel with excellent service and staff. The restaurant below the hotel makes excellent mixed drinks.

Myself, husband and 2 boys (aged 9 and 11) stayed for a week, and it was amazing. The location is absolutely perfect!! Literally on top of the Spanish steps. We were able to walk to all different areas of Rome very easily. The hotel itself exceeded expectations - staff was very friendly, rooms were very clean, and the beds were so comfortable! (Arguably the most comfortable beds we have ever had in a hotel). We booked the adjoining rooms with balcony - worked perfectly for our family. There was an extra bed in our room (a sitting area would have been preferred - however, we were able to sit in the rooftop terrace/breakfast room in the evenings if we wanted, and it was just a few steps away). The breakfast every morning was a great start to the day - staff was very friendly, and there was something for everyone. A lot of care was put into the breakfast. Would HIGHLY recommend Hotel Scalinata for anyone visiting Rome!

The property was in a building just a few steps away from main building and reception as advertised… the location was amazing on top of the spanish steps … from one of the windows before my room I could also see Piazza Spagna … the metro Spagna was within walking distance - the room was very comfortable, bathroom included a shower, toilet and bidet as well as wash hand basis .. the room had AC (heating as I was there in Dec) as well as WiFi - 4 free bottles of water per day … Riccardo at reception was very helpful … very good breakfast buffet from 07:00 on the (enclosed) terrace

The location was perfect. Right at the top of the Spanish Steps, just half a block from the elevator that takes you down to the Metro. Easy walking distance to the major Rome central sites we wanted to visit. The breakfast buffet was excellent and diverse each day, with scrambled eggs, breads, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee... All delicious.
